FRISCO, Texas -- Injured forward Tyler Seguin is not expected to play for the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday at American Airlines Center (8 pm ET; NBCSN, SN, TVA Sports).

"He's not available to play right now," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said Tuesday. "I'm not going to try to deceive you (the media), he's not ready to play yet. He's just hit his next step on the way back again. He's closer than he was a couple days ago."

Seguin, who missed the final 10 games of the regular season after a cut to his Achilles on March 17, an injury that required surgery, returned for Game 2 against the Wild on April 16 but has been out since with an undisclosed injury.

Seguin was one of a many players on the ice for Dallas at an optional skate Tuesday. Ruff said Seguin's status remains day-to-day.

"He's been ramping up the skating again and it's just all part of the process," Ruff said. "That's a real good sign for us."
