EVERETT, Wash. - Tyler Ness and Matt Dumba each had a goal and an assist, leading the Red Deer Rebels to a 4-2 victory over the Everett Silvertips on Wednesday night in Western Hockey League action.
Ness' goal, when he blew a slapshot past Everett goaltender Daniel Cotton following an extended period of pressure, came with 13.3 seconds remaining in the first period and made it 2-0.
The Rebels remained in control the rest of the way.
Conner Bleackley and Cody Thiel also scored for Red Deer (10-10-2). Patrik Bartosak made 27 saves to earn the win in goal for the Rebels.
Tyler Sandhu and Landon Oslanski scored for Everett (6-13-2), which dropped its seventh straight. Sandhu's goal ended a stretch of seven scoreless periods for the Silvertips.
Cotton finished with 25 saves.
