Tyler Murovich leads Saginaw past Plymouth 4-3 to clinch seventh place @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - Tyler Murovich scored in regulation and the shoot-out to help the Saginaw Spirit beat the Plymouth Whalers 4-3 to clinch the seventh seed in the upcoming OHL playoffs.

Saginaw will play the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds, who eliminated the Spirit last year, in the opening round. Plymouth, the defending OHL Champions are the eighth seed and will take on the Kitchener Rangers, in first round play.

Saginaw (33-25-8-2) received single goals from Adam Comrie and Ryan McDonough, while Patrick Lee, A.J. Jenks and Joe McCann scored for Plymouth (34-28-2-4).

Spirit netminder Ryan Daniels was hot in the net stopping 47 of 50 shots.
