Tyler Ennis of Medicine Hat Tigers named WHL player of the week @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Medicine Hat Tigers forward Tyler Ennis was named Western Hockey League player of the week Monday.

Ennis picked up eight points (five goals, three assists) in three games to help the Tigers go 2-1-0-0 last week.

Ennis, a 19-year-old from Edmonton, was selected in the first round of the 2008 NHL entry draft by the Buffalo Sabres and helped Canada win its fifth straight gold medal at the world junior hockey championships earlier this year.

The WHL also nominated Adam Brown of the Kelowna Rockets for the Canadian Hockey League goaltender of the week award. He posted a 2-0-0-0 record last week with a 0.46 goals-against average and .982 save percentage.
