Tuesday's QMJHL roundup @NHLdotcom

A return to home ice didn't help the Lewiston Maineiacs, who suffered another humiliating defeat at the hands on the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Yannick Riendeau had three goals and an assist as the Voltigeurs beat the Maineiacs 7-2, and took a 3-0 stranglehold in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League first-round series.

After two games in Drummondville, a return to the familiar confines of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee did little to help Lewiston, which was outshot by a 57-14 margin in the game.

At least the Maineiacs held the Voltigeurs under 10 goals this time. Drummondville won the first two games of the series 12-3 and 10-1.

In other QMJHL playoff action, it was: Cape Breton 8 Saint John 3; Moncton 3 P.E.I. 2 (OT); Acadie-Bathurst 5 Gatineau 3; Montreal 4 Rouyn-Noranda 1; Baie-Comeau 4 Quebec 3; Rimouski 6 Chicoutimi 3; and Shawinigan 4 Victoriaville 3 (OT).

At Lewiston, Maine, Mike Hoffman added two goals and an assists for the Voltigeurs, while Olivier Hotte and Patrik Prokop also scored. Dany Masse added three assists.

Billy Lacasse had a goal and an assist and Maxime Gratchev also scored for Lewiston.

Marco Cousineau made just 12 saves in recording the win.

Lewiston goaltender Adrien Lemay kept the game as close as possible, making 50 saves in a losing cause.

Drummondville can complete the sweep with a win Wednesday in Lewiston.

Screaming Eagles 8 Sea Dogs 3

At Saint John, N.B., Nicolas Chouinard had two goals and two assists as Cape Breton took a 3-0 series lead over the Sea Dogs.

Taylor MacDougall also scored twice, while Joey Haddad, Robert Slaney, Stephen Horyl and Nick MacNeil had the other Cape Breton goals.

Ryan Sparling, Payton Liske and Olivier Ouellet replied for Saint John.

Game 4 is Wednesday at Saint John.


Wildcats 3 Rocket 2 (OT)

At Charlotte, David Savard scored his third goal of the game in overtime as Moncton took a 3-0 series lead over P.E.I.

Benjamin Casavant and Jarrad Struthers replied for the Rocket.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Charlottetown.


Titan 5 Olympiques 3

At Bathurst, N.B., Spencer Jezegou had a goal and two assists as the Titan reduced Gatineau's series lead to 2-1.

Remi Blanchard, Vincent Couture, Artem Demkov and Eric Faille also scored for Acadie-Bathurst.

Maxime Mallette had two goals while Josh McQuade also scored for Gatineau.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Bathurst.


Junior 4 Huskies 1

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., T.J. Brennan had a goal and two assists as Montreal took a 2-1 series lead over the Huskies.

Louis-Marc Aubry, Toni Ritter and Nick Layton also scored for Montreal.

Gabriel Levesque replied for Rouyn-Noranda.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Rouyn-Noranda.


Drakkar 4 Remparts 3

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Guillaume Goulet scored twice as the Drakkar reduced Quebec's series lead to 2-1.

Marc-Olivier Mimar and Felix Petit also scored for the Drakkar.

Guillaume Monast, Dmitri Kugryshev and Mikhail Stefanovich replied for the Remparts.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Baie-Comeau.


Oceanic 6 Sagueneens 3

At Chicoutimi, Que., Keven Veilleux had a goal and two assists as Rimouski took a 3-0 series lead over the Sagueneens.

Philippe Cornet, Patrice Cormier, Jordan Caron, Emmanuel Boudreau and Felix Lefrancois also scored for the Oceanic.

Nicolas Deschamps, with two goals, and Luc-Olivier Blain replied for Chicoutimi.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Chicoutimi.


Cataractes 4 Tigres 3 (OT)

At Victoriaville, Que., Matthew Pistilli scored his second goal of the game in overtime as Shawinigan took a 3-0 series lead over the Tigres.

Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll also scored twice for the Cataractes.

David Cliche, with two goals, and Philip-Michael Devos replied for the Tigres.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Victoriaville.
