ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Brock Trotter's goal at 11:10 of the second period proved to be the winner and Cedrick Desjardins made 39 saves as the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the Rochester Americans 5-3 on Saturday in the AHL.
Karl Stewart opened the scoring for the Americans at 3:06 of the first before Hamilton's Matt D'Agostini and Greg Stewart put the Bulldogs (7-2-1-0) up 2-1 going into the second.
Mike Glumac and Trotter made it 4-1 for the Bulldogs in the second, but Micahel Duco replied for Rochester and Tanner Glass pulled the Americans to within one goal at 16:00 of the third.
Hamilton's Kyle Chipchura sealed the victory with an empty-netter.
Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped eight shots before being replaced by Tyler Plante, who turned aside all 11 shots he faced for the Americans (1-9-0-0).
