Trojanovic and Murphy lift Petes over Knights 5-3 with power-play goals @NHL

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Steven Trojanovic and Trevor Murphy had power-play goals a minute and 35 seconds apart as the Peterborough Petes beat the top-ranked London Knights 5-3 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Alan Quine, Stephen Pierog and Andrew Yogan also scored for the Petes (15-13-5), while Mike Morrison made 30 saves ? including on a penalty shot by Vladimir Namestnikov ? to earn the win.

Namestnikov, Seth Griffith and Andreas Athanasiou replied for the Knights (24-7-1). Michael Houser stopped 27 shots for London.

The Knights are the No. 1 team in the Canadian Hockey League's weekly rankings.

Namestnikov gave the Knights the lead just 1:04 into the game but Quine helped Peterborough equalize with five minutes to play in the first.

Yogan scored the goal of the night for the Petes' third, picking the puck up behind his own net and weaving through the entire London team before deking Houser and sliding the puck home.

Griffith pulled London back within one on London's only power-play goal in seven chances, tapping home a beautiful cross-crease feed from Max Domi.
