Tremblay and Milson score in shootout as Acadie-Bathurst edges Val-d'Or 6-5 @NHLdotcom

Julien Tremblay and Bryce Milson wanted to see the Acadie-Bathurst Titan's slide come to an end.

Tremblay and Milson scored in the shootout as Acadie-Bathurst edged the Val-d'Or Foreurs 6-5 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

The win ended a three-game losing streak for the Titan. The win lifted Acadie-Bathurst to 43 points, one better then Val-d'Or's 42.

The Titan have won five games in the shootout this season, while losing two. One of those losses was a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the Foreurs on Dec. 9.

Francois Lacerte stopped 30 shots for Acadie-Bathurst, and three shots in the shootout. Raffaele D'Orso made 24 saves for Val-d'Or, while making two in the shootout.

Samuel Morneau scored in the shootout for the Foreurs.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was Quebec 7 Rouyn-Noranda 5; Rimouski 6 Baie-Comeau 2; Drummondville 3 Lewiston 1; Chicoutimi 5 Montreal 4 and Cape Breton 5 Victoriaville 3.

At Bathurst, N.B., Eric Faille had a goal and two assists for the Titan (18-30-5), while Ryan McKiernan, David Gilbert, Bryce Milson and Julien Tremblay added markers.

Olivier Dallaire, Samuel Morneau, Alexandre Quesnel, Marco Scandella and Gabriel Beaupre provided the offence for Val-d'Or (18-28-6).


Remparts 7 Huskies 5

At Quebec, Dmitri Kugryshev scored twice and added four assists as the Remparts downed Rouyn-Noranda.

Marc-Olivier Vallerand had a pair of goals and an assist for Quebec (31-14-7), while Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, Matthew Brown and Mikhail Stefanovich.

Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Christophe Losier, Jean-Sebastien Berube, Dmitry Kostromitin and Sergey Ostapchuk tallied for the Huskies (30-19-4).


Oceanic 6 Drakkar 2

At Rimouski, Que., Alex Belzile scored twice and added an assist as the Oceanic tripled Baie-Comeau.

Felix Lefrancois had a goal and two assists for Rimouski (25-20-6), while Patrick Delisle-Houde, Petr Straka and Ryan Kavanagh added singles.

Dominic-Antoine Tremblay and Simon Darveau supplied the offence for the Drakkar (16-31-4).


Voltigeurs 3 Maineiacs 1

At Drummondville, Que., Philippe Bergeron scored the eventual winner as the Voltigeurs beat Lewiston.

Sean Couturier and Jonathan Brunelle had the other goals for Drummondville (35-14-2).

Pierre-Olivier Morin was the lone scorer for the Maineiacs (18-30-3).


Sagueneens 5 Junior 4

At Chicoutimi, Que., Dominic Jalbert scored the winner with a minute left to play as the Sagueneens edged Montreal.

Antoine Roussel had a short-handed marker for Chicoutimi (19-24-8), while Christophe Tremblay, Alexandre Lavoie and Alexis Piette added singles.

Hubert Genest had back-to-back goals for the Junior (24-21-5), while Matthew Brenton and Matt Provost also tallied.


Screaming Eagles 5 Tigres 3

At Sydney, N.S., Luke Adam had a hat trick as Cape Breton tamed Victoriaville.

Cory MacIntosh and Taylor MacDougall had markers for the Screaming Eagles (30-18-5).

Brandon Hynes, Joel Champagne and Olivier Jannard scored for the Tigres (34-17-2).
