Trask forces overtime, Stebner scores winner as Blazers edge Pats 5-4 @NHLdotcom

REGINA - Zak Stebner scored the overtime winner to help the Kamloops Blazers beat the Regina Pats 5-4 in WHL action Friday night.

Jake Trask scored late in the third period for Kamloops (8-2-2) to force overtime.

Blazer Tyler Shattock opened the scoring midway through the first, Regina's Graham Hood answered back a minute later and Matt Strueby added one more to send the Pats (4-7-0) to the dressing room with a 2-1 lead.

In the second it was the Blazers who struck for two goals while Regina managed just one. Scoring for Kamloops was Dylan Willick - with his second point of the night - and CJ Stretch. Regina's goal came from Brett Leffler just moments after a goal by linemate Jordan Weal was waved off by the referees because of a player in the crease.

Colten Teubert put the Pats on top midway through the third, but Regina's Kyle Mulder was sent off for holding the opponents stick and Trask scored on the ensuing power play to even the score at 4-4.

Jon Groenheyde made 42 saves for Kamloops, while Dawson Guhle stopped 28 shots for the Pats, who have lost three straight.
