TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs are shaking up their roster.

The team has acquired forward Lee Stempniak from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenceman Carlo Colaiacovo and forward Alex Steen.

Stempniak has three goals and 10 assists in 14 games this season and will give the Leafs some more offence. He scored 27 goals in 2006-07.

Colaiacovo, whose career has been plagued by injuries, has one assist in 10 games this season.

Steen has recorded two goals and two assists in his first 20 games this season.

Both players are former first-round draft picks who haven't met expectations.

The move comes as the Leafs are reportedly in the process of negotiating with Brian Burke about becoming the team's new general manager.
