Erie Otters center Connor McDavid, a projected top-two pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, extended his season-opening point-scoring streak to six games while leading his team to back-to-back wins against the Kitchener Rangers over the weekend.

Boston University center Jack Eichel, also considered a top-two selection, had two goals and two assists in his first college game Saturday, an 8-1 win against the University of Massachusetts at Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass.

Both players are A-rated skaters on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary players to watch list.

Boston University next plays Oct. 18, against the United States National Team Development Program Under-18 team in an exhibition game at Agganis Arena in Boston at 7 p.m. ET.

McDavid had two goals and two assists in an 8-3 road victory against Kitchener on Friday. On Saturday he had two assists and got into his first fight in the Ontario Hockey League in a 5-4 shootout victory against Kitchener. McDavid scored one of the two goals for the Otters in the shootout.

McDavid and teammate Dylan Strome, also a potential first-round draft choice in June, are tied for the Ontario Hockey League scoring lead with 18 points apiece for Erie (6-0-0). McDavid has seven goals and 11 assists while Strome has three goals and 15 assists.

The Otters, who have started a season with six straight victories for the first time in their history, will play at the London Knights on Wednesday and then play the Sudbury Wolves at home Friday.
