Toomey scores two, including game winner, as Saskatoon shades Regina 4-3

SASKATOON - Travis Toomey scored twice, including the game winner early in the third period, as the Saskatoon Blades edged the Regina Pats 4-3 on Wednesday night in the WHL.

Toomey's second goal of the night - and fourth of the season - came at 3:53 of the third, while the Blades (8-2-2) were killing a penalty. Toomey also had an unassisted goal in the second period to pace Saskatoon.

Stefan Elliott and Derek Hulak added a goal and an assist apiece for the Blades.

Jordan Eberle had a goal and an assist to lead the Pats (5-7-2), giving him 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) in nine games since being returned to junior by the Edmonton Oilers.

Brett Leffler also had a goal and an assist, while Jordan Weal added a single.

Adam Morrison's 28-save performance preserved the win for Saskatoon.

Damien Ketlo turned aside 32 shots for Regina.
