WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Tom Kuhnhackl scored twice and added an assist as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins beat the St. John's IceCaps 5-2 on Wednesday in American Hockey League play.
Jean-Sebastien Dea had a goal and three assists for the Penguins (8-1-0), who have won seven straight. Carter Rowney and David Warsofsky also scored, while Matt Murray made 41 saves to earn the win.
Michael McCarron and Christian Thomas replied for St. John's (6-4-2), the minor-league affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Zachary Fucale stopped 9-of-13 shots in 23:29 of work. Eddie Pasquale replaced Fucale after Kuhnhackl's second goal, turning aside 8-of-9 shots in relief.
Both teams were 1 for 3 on the power play.
