Tokarski stops 41 as Spokane blanks Vancouver to tie series at 2-2 @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Dustin Tokarski made 41 saves to rob the Vancouver Giants as the Spokane Chiefs escaped with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday night in Western Hockey League playoff action.

Tyler Johnson scored the lone goal of the game on a first-period power play and the Chiefs hung on to even their Western Conference semifinal series at 2-2, guaranteeing a return to Spokane on Sunday for Game 6.

Tokarski, who had three shutouts during Spokane's championship run in 2008, stopped 33 shots in the final 40 minutes, including 18 saves in the third period as Vancouver's offence threw everything they had at the Chiefs' net.

Tyson Sexsmith stopped 17 shots in a losing effort.
