Tokarski makes 25 saves; Chiefs blank Americans, take 2-1 WHL West final lead

SPOKANE, Wash. - Dustin Tokarski made 25 saves for his second shutout of the series and the Spokane Chiefs beat the Tri-City Americans 2-0 in Western Hockey League playoff action Monday.

The Chiefs lead the WHL Western Conference final 2-1. Wednesday's game was the first in the series to end in regulation after the first two went to double overtime. Game 4 is Tuesday in Spokane.

David Rutherford and Ondrej Roman scored for Spokane.

Chet Pickard made 34 saves for Tri-City as both goaltenders continued their excellent play in the series.
