Tobias Rieder scores, adds assist to lead Rangers to 3-2 win over Sting @NHLdotcom

SARNIA, Ont. - Tobias Rieder had a goal and an assist as the Kitchener Rangers edged the Sarnia Sting 3-2 Thursday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Cody Sol scored a power-play goal in the opening period to give Kitchener (13-6-1) a 1-0 lead after one period.

Rieder scored short-handed midway through the second while Matia Marcantuoni scored late in the period, as the Rangers won their fourth in a row.

Nail Yakupov had a goal and an assist for the Sting (13-4-4), who lost for the fourth time in their last six games. Nate Chiarletti scored the only other goal.

John Gibson was outstanding in net stopping 38 of 40 shots, while former Ranger netminder Brandon Maxwell was pulled after allowing three goals on just 16 shots. Brandon Hope came on in relief stopping all three shots he saw.
