Tigers take 3-1 WHL Eastern Conference series lead over Hitmen

CALGARY (CP) - Tyler Swystun's second-period goal stood as the winner as the Medicine Hat Tigers earned a 3-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen in Western Hockey League playoff action Wednesday night.

With the win, the Tigers take a commanding 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference final with a chance to wrap up the best-of-seven series on Friday night back in Medicine Hat. Derek Dorsett and Tyler Ennis scored for the Tigers, while Matt Keetley made 18 saves to improve his playoff record to 11-4.

Robin Figren scored the lone goal for the Hitmen, while netminder Dan Spence stopped 23 shots in a losing cause.
