Tigers beat Broncos, advance to second round of WHL playoffs @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Zdenek Okal scored two goals as the Medicine Hat Tigers advanced to the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs with a 4-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday.

The Tigers won the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final 4-3.

Sean Ringrose and Brennan Bosch also scored for the Tigers. Tyler Ennis added two assists to give him a playoff-leading 13 points (eight goals, five assists).

Michael Stickland replied for the Broncos.

Ryan Holfeld stopped 39 shots for Medicine Hat, while Travis Yonkman made 17 saves for Swift Current.
