Thunderbirds score twice on power play to defeat Silvertips 3-1 @NHLdotcom

EVERETT, Wash. - The Seattle Thunderbirds broke a deadlock by scoring twice during a power play midway through the third period to defeat the Everett Silvertips 3-1 in WHL action Friday night.

Bud Holloway and Greg Scott scored the decisive goals after Everett's Kyle Beach took a major for checking from behind.

As a result, Seattle (40-23-5-2) clinched fourth place in the Western Conference.

Ian McKenzie also scored and Riku Helenius made 35 saves in goal for Seattle.

Shane Harper scored and Leland Irving stopped 38 shots in goal for Everett (39-28-0-3), who lost its third straight.
