EVERETT, Wash. - The Seattle Thunderbirds broke a deadlock by scoring twice during a power play midway through the third period to defeat the Everett Silvertips 3-1 in WHL action Friday night.
Bud Holloway and Greg Scott scored the decisive goals after Everett's Kyle Beach took a major for checking from behind.
As a result, Seattle (40-23-5-2) clinched fourth place in the Western Conference.
Ian McKenzie also scored and Riku Helenius made 35 saves in goal for Seattle.
