Thunderbirds score three in the second to down Pats 5-2 in WHL action

KENT, Wash. - Seattle scored three unanswered goals in the second period Wednesday as the Thunderbirds cruised to a 5-2 win over the Regina Pats in Western Hockey League action.

Charles Wells, Jonathan Parker and Jeremy Schappert had the goals for Seattle in the second. Both teams scored goals in the first period, Garrett Mitchell for Regina and Prab Rai for Seattle.

Schappert added his seventh goal of the season in the third period for Seattle (10-14-4). Matt Strueby scored his 18th of the season for Regina in the final seconds.

Regina (14-12-3) had its five-game unbeaten streak snapped.
