A severe winter snowstorm impacting the East Coast had caused the postponement of three NHL games as of late Saturday morning.
The Washington Capitals game against the Pittsburgh Penguins scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Verizon Center will have to be rescheduled, the second game the Capitals had postponed in as many days. They were set to host the Anaheim Ducks on Friday in a game that was originally moved up two hours in an attempt to beat the inclement weather; however, the NHL announced Friday afternoon it would not be played as scheduled.

The New York Islanders also had their game against the Philadelphia Flyers scheduled for Saturday evening at Barclays Center postponed.
Tickets for each of these games will be honored for the rescheduled date, the Capitals and Islanders announced.
No makeup dates have been announced yet for any of the games.
The Carolina Hurricanes are offering fans who were unable to make it to their Friday game against the New York Rangers the opportunity to exchange their tickets for one of six games later this season. All ticket exchanges must take place at the PNC Arena box office.
