Three first-period goals help Warriors outlast Thunderbiords 3-2 @NHLdotcom

SEATTLE - Moose Jaw scored all three of its goals in the first period and then held on to beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 in WHL action at KeyArena Sunday night.

Joey Perricone made 40 saves and also stopped a Seattle penalty shot for Moose Jaw, 20-10-4-3. Frazer McLaren got the Warriors off to a quick start when he scored his 10th goal of the season only nine seconds into Moose Jaw's first power play at 5:15 of the first period.

Ryley Grantham made it 2-0 at 14:32 of the period and Joel Broda took a perfect feed from Giffen Nyren to pad the lead to 3-0 at 19:32 of the first period.

Lindsay Nielsen knocked in a rebound of his own shot 23 seconds into the second period for Seattle and Jeremy Boyer made it close with a goal at 11:16 of the third period.

Seattle, 16-12-5-1, outshot Moose Jaw 42-24 in the game.
