ATLANTA (AP) -The last-place Atlanta Thrashers dumped another player before the NHL trade deadline Wednesday, sending center Erik Christensen to the Anaheim Ducks for the rights to junior player Eric O'Dell.
Christensen played in 47 games with the Thrashers this season, scoring five goals and adding 14 assists. He was acquired from Pittsburgh ahead of last year's trade deadline in a deal that sent Marian Hossa to the Penguins.
O'Dell, an 18-year-old center, was a second-round pick of the Ducks in the 2008 draft. He plays for Sudbury in the Ontario Hockey League, where he has 30 goals and 29 assists in 59 games.
The Thrashers dealt defenseman Niclas Havelid to New Jersey for a minor leaguer on Tuesday, and last month they sent defenseman Mathieu Schneider to Montreal for a pair of draft picks.
