SAGINAW, Mich. - The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds found the back of the net four times in the first period to secure a 6-3 victory over the Saginaw Spirit in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday.
Brett Thompson lead the way for the Greyhounds with two goals and Brandon Archibald added a goal and two assists. Michael Quesnele and Jordan Nolan also contributed a goal and an assist each.
Tomas Rachunek rounded out the scoring for Sault Ste. Marie (31-24-5).
Saginaw's Tyler Murovich had a goal and an assist, while Jordan Hill and Ivan Telegin also scored for the Spirit (29-25-6).
Robin Lehner stopped 34 of 37 shots for the Greyhounds.
Edward Pasquale started the game for the Spirit but was pulled after allowing four goals on 18 first period shots. Tadeas Galansky replaced him in the second period and finished with 22 saves in defeat.
