Thompson scores in overtime to lead Greyhounds to comeback win over Spirit @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - Brett Thompson's goal in overtime capped a third-period Sault Ste. Marie rally as the Greyhounds beat the Saginaw Spirit 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.

Jordan Nolan, Brock Beukeboom and Daniel Catenacci, with the game-tying goal at 18:17, scored in the third period as the Greyhounds overcame a three-goal deficit.

Vern Cooper added two assists.

Michael Sgarbossa had a goal and an assist, while Josh Shalla and Jordan Skellett also scored for Saginaw (21-16-5).

Robin Lehner stopped 35 of 38 shots to backstop Sault Ste. Marie (22-18-4) to the win and sole possession of fifth place in the Western Conference.

Edward Pasquale did what he could to keep the Spirit in the game with 40 saves.
