Thomas McCollum makes 23 saves as Brampton blanks Spirit 2-0 @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - Thomas McCollum stopped all 23 shots, posting his fourth shutout of the year to lead the Brampton Battalion to a 2-0 win over the Saginaw Spirit in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.

Brampton ran their winning streak to five straight while halting Saginaw's modest win streak at three games. It was McCollum's first shutout since joining Brampton (29-14-1-1) at the trade deadline.

Matt Kang scored in the first and Evgeny Grachev added an insurance goal in the third period.

Saginaw (26-16-0-3) goaltender Edward Pasquale was solid in the loss with 34 saves, as both teams were 0-4 on the power play.
