Petr Nedved
scores his second goal of the game at 19:15 of the fourth overtime for a
3-2 victory against the Washington Capitals
at Capital Centre in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

The Penguins lose starting goalie

after the first period with back spasms and trail 2-0, but tie the game on goals by

, he scores at 25:40 of OT to complete a rally after the Islanders allow the game's first three goals. Ferraro gives the Islanders a 3-1 series lead, with all three victories coming in overtime.

against the Blackhawks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals at Pepsi Center. It's his 89th playoff victory, one more than Smith. It's also the 10th playoff shutout of Roy's career.

Exactly two years later, Roy becomes the first goalie with 100 wins in the playoffs when the Avalanche

2016:The Islanders win a playoff series for the first time since 1993 when they
defeat the Florida Panthers 2-1 in overtime
in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference First Round at Barclays Center. Islanders captain John Tavares ties the game with 54 seconds remaining in the third period, then wins it by beating Florida goalie
Roberto Luongo
at 10:41 of OT. It's New York's first playoff series win since defeating the Penguins in the Patrick Division Final 23 years earlier.

2019:Brock McGinn scores at 31:05 of overtime to give the Carolina Hurricanes a
4-3 victory
against the defending champion Washington Capitals in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference First Round at Capital One Arena. Carolina trails 2-0 in the first period and 3-1 in the second. But Jordan Staal's third-period goal ties the game, and McGinn wins it when he knocks a pass by Justin Williams from the right corner behind Capitals goalie Braden Holtby. It's the third-longest Game 7 in playoff history.
