The Spokane Chiefs outshoot Everett 47-20 in convincing 5-1 rout @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs dominated the Everett Silvertips, outshooting their opponent 47-20 in a convincing 5-1 win Saturday night in the Western hockey League.

Ryan Letts scored the winner for Spokane on the power play at 16:53 of the second period.

Despite firing 22 shots in the first period, the Chiefs couldn't solve Silvertips netminder Shayne Barrie, allowing Everett to carry a 1-0 lead into the second period thanks to Shane Harper's early goal.

But Spokane (6-1-0-2) kept the pressure on and soon found the net. Dustin Donaghy tallied the first goal, and David Conrad, Mike Betz and Drayson Bowman all scored for the Chiefs.

Dustin Tokarski made 19 saves to preserve the victory for Spokane, while Barrie stopped 42 shots for the Silvertips (3-4-1-0).
