The Bruins break nine game losing streak and defeat Blazers 3-1 @NHLdotcom

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - The Chilliwack Bruins broke a nine game losing streak and also locked down 7th in the West with a 3-1 victory over the Kamloops Blazers.

Jordan Rowley gave the Blazers a 1-0 lead on the power play early in the second period, but after that it was all Bruins as Mark Santorelli scored late in the second to tie things up before Evan Pighin notched his 20th goal of the season early in the third.

Cody Smuk added an empty-netter late in the period as the Bruins won their 27th game of the season, but their first since a 3-2 win over Edmonton on Feb 19.

The Blazers, who were picked by many to contend for the Western Conference title, will settle into 8th spot in the West and await the winner of the Conference, either Tri City or Spokane, as they will open the playoffs on the road in eastern Washington.
