Stars-Marlies

The Texas Stars extended the Calder Cup Finals with a 5-2 win against the Toronto Marlies in Game 6 at Ricoh Coliseum on Tuesday.
Game 7 of the American Hockey League championship series will be Thursday at Toronto (7 p.m. ET; NHLN). It will be the first Game 7 in the Finals since 2003, and the second since 1996.

Mike McKenna made 43 saves for Texas.
"We have to move on, we have an opportunity now again to play in a one-game shot on home ice for a championship," Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe said. "So we have to turn the page, recognize what didn't go well for us and why it didn't go well for us tonight. We will talk more about that tomorrow, but most importantly we just wanted to get our team's mindset right to recognize that we have a great opportunity that we should be excited for."
Curtis McKenzie gave Texas a 1-0 lead 6:46 into the second period. Goals by Travis Morin at 14:57 and Austin Fyten at 17:03 made it 3-0.
Calle Rosen got Toronto within 3-1 1:37 into the third period before Sheldon Dries made it 4-1 with a shorthanded goal at 3:08. Justin Holl scored with 4:48 left to make it 4-2, and Colin Markison gave Texas a 5-2 lead with an empty-net goal with 3:36 remaining.
Garret Sparks made 13 saves for Toronto before he was pulled after allowing the goal to Dries. Calvin Pickard made six saves in relief.
Houston defeated Hamilton in Game 7 to win the 2003 championship. Rochester defeated Portland in 1996.
