Telegin's two-goal performance lifts Sarnia past Plymouth 6-1 @NHL

SAGINAW, Mich. - Ivan Telegin scored two goals and Jordan Skellett added a goal and two assists to power the Saginaw Spirit to a 6-1 win over the Plymouth Whalers in OHL action Thursday.

Josh Shalla, T. J. Brodie and rookie Vincent Trocheck, with his first OHL career goal, also scored while Jordan Szwarz chipped in with a pair of assist for the Spirit (3-0-0), who scored the first five goals and lead 5-0 after two periods.

A. J. Jenks scored the lone goal for Plymouth (2-1-0).

Spirit netminder Anthony Peters made his third straight start for injured starter Edward Pasquale, and stopped 16 shots.

Matt Hackett and Scott Wedgewood combined to make 17 saves for the Whalers.
