Blog 14 - Thursday, May 14
There's not too much I can say that hasn't already been said about this series. If you watched last night’s game you heard the commentators say it all: The Caps just didn't come to play. For a team as good as The Caps, to have scratched their way to a Game 7, (though an overtime goal in Game 3 would have changed everything), they simply didn't have it together. They were outplayed in every way. Not much more I can say about this. It just hurts.
To lose in Game 7 is always hard, but to lose to the Penguins, by four goals, is devastating. I share the sentiment of the fans that were there in the arena last night, who, with 4 minutes to go, began shouting "Let's Go Caps" with a renewed enthusiasm and plenty of heart. It became clear to me in that moment that hockey has returned to Washington, and The Caps have awakened and invigorated a legion of fans, old and new, who look forward to standing with them next season, and shouting-- "Let's Go Caps."
Raising the Bar-Season two starts June 8th. Only on TNT.
