Taylor Vause scores team-leading 24th goal, Broncos defeat Royals 3-1 @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Taylor Vause led the Swift Current Broncos with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the visiting Victoria Royals in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.

Vause scored his team-leading 24th goal of the season and assisted on a third period power-play goal to help the Broncos earn back-to-back wins.

Swift Current also had a goal from overage forward Brad Hoban with his 12th of the season, while defenceman Reece Scarlett added his ninth of the year on the power play with 8:05 left in regulation.

Victoria's lone goal came from Robin Soudek who scored his 18th of the year in the middle period.

Broncos netminder Jon Groenheyde improved to 15-16-5 after turning aside 38 of 39 shots.

Royals goaltender Keith Hamilton is now 13-21-4 after giving up three goals on 28 shots.

The win improves Swift Current's record to 18-22-5 as they remain 10th in the Eastern Conference.

Victoria drops to 14-26-5 and remains eighth in the Western Conference.
