Tavares nets two points to lead the Generals over Kingston 3-1

OSHAWA, Ont. - John Tavares had a goal and an assist to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 3-1 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Neil Conway made 22 saves for his fourth win in the past five games, but lost his shutout bid when Kingston's Nathan Moon scored shorthanded with 51 seconds remaining in the game.

Michael Del Zotto and James DeLory scored the other Oshawa (11-11-0-1) goals. It was DeLory's first goal of the season and came on the power play, where the Generals were 1-for-4.

Kingston's league-worst power play failed to score on five chances.

Mavric Parks made 23 saves in net for the Frontenacs (5-13-4-1).
