Tavares, Hedman remain at the top of draft rankings by NHL Central Scouting @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - London Knights centre John Tavares remains the top North American skater while Swedish defenceman Victor Hedman still leads among Europeans in the final NHL Central Scouting Bureau rankings released Tuesday.

Tavares established an Ontario Hockey League record with 215 career goals, scoring 32 times in his final 24 games. He also helped Canada win gold at the world junior championships.

The six-foot-six, 220-pound Hedman collected 21 points in 43 games for MoDo of the Swedish Elite League, earning rookie of the year honours.

Matt Duchene of the Brampton Battalion is ranked second behind Tavares, followed by Evander Kane of the Vancouver Giants, Brayden Schenn of the Brandon Wheat Kings and Jordan Schroeder from the University of Minnesota.

Rounding out the Top 5 in Europe behind Hedman are: Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson, Jacob Josefson, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Tim Erixon.

Matt Hackett of the Plymouth Whalers is the top-rated North American goaltender while Frolunda's Robin Lehner leads the Europeans.
