Tatar's hat trick lifts Red Wings past Blackhawks @NHLdotcom

Tomas Tatar had a hat trick to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Joe Louis Arena on Wednesday.

Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader also scored, center Brad Richards had three assists, and defensemen Jakub Kindl and Niklas Kronwall had two assists each. Goalie Petr Mrazek made saves on all 16 shots he faced before being relieved by Jared Coreau, who made 15 saves.

Andrew Shaw scored a power-play goal for the Blackhawks at 14:29 of the second period. Corey Crawford allowed one goal on eight shots; Michael Leighton made 14 saves.

Chicago was 1-for-6 on the power play; Detroit was 1-for-4.
