GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Jamie Tardif's second career AHL hat trick lifted the Grand Rapids Griffins past the Abbotsford Heat 6-1 on Sunday.
Kris Newbury added a pair of goals while John Vigilante added a single as the Griffins (4-4-0) won its third home game in as many days. Daniel Larsson preserved the victory with a a career-best 41-save performance.
Carsen Germyn spoiled Larsson's shutout bid with 5:32 left in the third period, providing the lone offence for the Heat (4-4-3).
David Shantz and Leland Irving combined to stop 22 shots in the loss.
