Forward Vladimir Tarasenko missed the St. Louis Blues' morning skate Tuesday to be with his wife who gave birth to their first child, Aleksandr.

Tarasenko is expected to be in the lineup for Game 2 of the Western Conference Final against the San Jose Sharks at Scottrade Center on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).

"Our assumption is that [Tarasenko] will be here for the game," Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said.

The Blues lead the best-of-7 series 1-0.

In 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games, Tarasenko has seven goals and 13 points, tied for the Blues lead with David Backes.
