Tangradi gains ground on Tavares with two points as Bulls beat Rangers 5-3

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Eric Tangradi crept closer to John Tavares for the Ontario Hockey League scoring lead with a goal and an assist on Saturday night as the Belleville Bulls held off the Kitchener Rangers 5-3.

Tangradi has 83 points (37 goals, 46 assists) in 50 games this season, four less than Tavares' 87 (47-40).

Brandon Mashinter and Cory Tanaka also had a goal and an assist each for Belleville (40-15-2-2), which won its fifth straight game. Luke Judson and Cody Alcock also scored.

Tyler Randell, Jeff Skinner and Julian Cimadamore scored for the Rangers (23-30-3-2).

Mike Murphy made 32 saves for the Bulls, while Kitchener netminder Parker Van Buskirk stopped 36 shots.
