It went all the way down to the end of Game 7, but the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Islanders in the Stanley Cup Semifinal, so a
debt had to be paid
.

Nassau County executive Laura Curran made good on her bet with Tampa mayor Jane Castor, sending her a bushel of Long Island delicacies to be enjoyed by the victors.
Castor took to social media to thank Curran for the care package, which included a pizza from Borelli's (to be cooked at a later date), a case of Barn Rocker Beer from Oyster Bay Brewing Company and what Castor said were "the largest bagels I've ever seen in my entire life," from Blue Line Deli and Bagels in Huntington.

The signature blue and orange Islanders bagels especially caught the mayor's eye as she said she hoped "the colors are indicative of the Islanders colors and not the age of the bagels, but I'm sure it is. They look wonderful. By the end of the video, even the office dog was excited to get a sniff of some of Long Island's finest goods.
Castor also said in the video that even though the Lightning won the series, she was still sending Curran the cigars and beer she'd promised if the Islanders had won.

As you may know by now, the betting between politicians has jumped up to the
national level for the Stanley Cup Final
with U.S. President Joe Biden accepting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's friendly wager before Game 1.
