Kucherov fined for actions in Lightning game against Islanders
Forward assessed $5,000 for dangerous trip on Mayfield

NEW YORK - Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov has been fined $5,000.00, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for a dangerous trip against New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield during NHL Game No. 783 on Long Island on Friday, Feb. 1, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 16:11 of the first period. Kucherov was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
