Steven Stamkos married his longtime sweetheart Sandra Porzio at a ceremony in Toronto on Friday.
The Tampa Bay Lightning captain had a plethora of current and former teammates at the ceremony, including Martin St. Louis, Ryan Malone, Nate Thompson and Teddy Purcell.
Thompson, who posted of photo of himself with Stamkos on Instagram just hours before signing a two-year, $3.3-million contract with the Ottawa Senators, played with Stamkos in Tampa Bay from 2010-2014.
Purcell, who played with Stamkos and Thompson with the Lightning from 2010-2014, was a groomsman in Stamkos' party.
Porzio has been a fixture at Lightning charitable functions through the years, and the couple even showed their philanthropic side at their nuptials. In lieu of gifts, the couple requested donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities both in Tampa and Toronto.
"We are very grateful for Steven and Sandra's support over the past few years," Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay's said announcing the wedding. "Both Sandra and Steven are committed to making the lives of pediatric families brighter while they care for their hospitalized children."
