Stamkos 1,000 t-shirt

It wasn't hard to find Steven Stamkos on Thursday.

The Tampa Bay Lightning arrived at UBS Arena wearing custom T-shirts to celebrate Steven Stamkos' 1,000th NHL game against the New York Islanders.
The white T-shirts read "Seen Stamkos! 1,000 games and counting" with the Lightning logo. They were inspired by the "Seen Stamkos?" marketing campaign Tampa Bay launched when the veteran forward was drafted first overall in 2008.

The shirts were a surprise to the Lightning captain.

Stamkos is the second player in Lightning history to skate in 1,000 career games.
"To see the community grow, to see this franchise grow," Stamkos said in an intermission interview with Bally Sports Sun. "Obviously, to see some tough times at the beginning, but see it all the way through to a couple championships. It's been a heck of a ride and, hopefully, a lot more to come."
Earlier this season the team celebrated
his 500th NHL goal
and his
1,000th career point
