Jared McCann had a hat trick for the Florida Panthers in a 5-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at BB&T Center on Thursday.
McCann scored to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead at 14:24 of the first period. He scored again at 13:32 of the second to make it 3-1 before completing the hat trick at 9:53 of the third for a 4-1 lead. Radim Vrbata put the Panthers ahead 1-0 8:17 into the game, and Colton Sceviour scored into an empty net with 29 seconds left to make it 5-2. James Reimer made 34 saves for Florida. Alex Killorn (power play) and Vladislav Namestnikov scored for the Lightning. Peter Budaj allowed four goals on 32 shots.
