Victor Hedman scratched Monday at Kings with illness

The Lightning defenseman departed warmups early and was held out of Monday's game with an undisclosed illness.

Top Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman missed his first game of the season at Los Angeles on Monday with an undisclosed illness, the team announced prior to puck drop.

Hedman, named a first-time All-Star last week, participated in pregame warmups at Staples Center but departed the ice early before heading back to the dressing room.
He was scratched for the game along with forward Joel Vermin, who was recently recalled from AHL Syracuse.
In 44 games, Hedman has a team-high 31 assists and seven goals.
