T.J. Hensick scores shootout winner as Rivermen defeat Bulldogs 3-2 @NHLdotcom

HAMILTON - T.J. Hensick scored the shootout-winning goal as the Peoria Rivermen beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 in American Hockey League action Tuesday.

Phil McRae had a goal and an assist for Peoria (8-6-2) while Danny Syvret also scored.

Mike Blunden and Phil DeSimone replied for Hamilton.

Ben Bishop made 31 saves for Peoria while Nathan Lawson stopped 23 shots for Hamilton (6-7-2).

McRae opened the scoring at 15:07 of the first period, putting a rebound of an Adam Cracknell shot past Lawson.

The Bulldogs tied the score at 19:54 of the opening period as Blunden split the Peoria defence at the blue-line and beat Bishop between his pads.

Hamilton took the lead at 6:01 of the third period as DeSimone ripped a wrist shot over Bishop's glove.

Peoria tied the score at 6:49 of the third period as Syvret jammed the puck in the net as it was trickling through Lawson?s pads.
