Sylvester tallies 4 points, scores in shootout as Kootenay ices Brandon 7-6

BRANDON, Man. - Dustin Sylvester scored two goals and added two assists, then scored again in the shootout as the Kootenay Ice topped the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-6 in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.

Rookie Max Reinhart also scored for Kootenay in the shootout, notched a penalty-shot goal in regulation and added two assists. Andrew Bailey, Tyler Vanscourt and Kevin King also scored for the Ice (14-9-2-3).

Matt Calvert notched two goals, while Andrew Clark, Mark Schneider, Nathan Green and Scott Glennie recorded singles for the Wheat Kings (13-9-1-1).

Nathan Lieuwen stopped 28 shots for Kootenay, while Brandon netminder Andrew Hayes made 10 saves on 13 shots before being replaced at the beginning of the second period by James Priestner, who stopped 22 of 25 shots.
