Edmonton defenseman Andy Sutton
has a phone hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Saturday afternoon to discuss a hit delivered to Carolina's Alexei Ponikarovsky
in the third period of Wednesday's game at Rexall Place.
On Thursday afternoon, Sutton was suspended indefinitely, pending a hearing. Sutton was offered the option of an in-person hearing.
The NHL suspended Sutton for five games earlier this season for a hit to the head of Colorado's Gabriel Landeskog
during an Oct. 28 game in Denver.
