Sunday's OHL Roundup @NHLdotcom

When the Plymouth Whalers are in a tight game they know they can rely on Tyler Seguin.

Seguin scored twice, including the overtime winner, as the Plymouth Whalers topped the Sarnia Sting 5-4 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night. Ranked second in North America by the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau for the 2010 draft, Seguin tacked on two assists to his evening's point total. He leads the OHL's scoring race with 39 goals and 51 assists.

There were four separate fights and a total of 86 penalty minutes in the rough match-up. Plymouth was 2-for-10 on the power play, while Sarnia was 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

The Sting are winless in the last 17 games. The Whalers have been rolling, going 7-2-1 in their last 10 matches.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was Erie 7 Peterborough 1; Niagara 4 Belleville 3; Saginaw 7 Windsor 2; Mississauga 5 Barrie 4 and Owen Sound 6 Guelph 2.

At Plymouth, Mich., Tyler Brown forced the extra frame with three minutes left in the third for Plymouth (33-22-2), while Ryan Hayes and Joe Gaynor added markers.

Brandon Alderson had a goal and an assist for Sarnia (14-38-4), while Daniel Broussard, Zack MacQueen and Kale Kerbashian also tallied.


Otters 7 Petes 1

At Erie, Pa., Greg McKegg had a goal and two assists as the Otters thrashed Peterborough.

Zack Torquato scored twice for Erie (26-22-7), while Shawn Szydlowski, Andrew Yogan, David Broll and Jeremy Gottzmann added singles.

Matt Puempel replied for the Petes (25-28-3).


IceDogs 4 Bulls 3

At Belleville, Ont., Andrew Agozzino scored twice including the eventual winner as Niagara nipped the Bulls.

Alex Friesen and Freddie Hamilton both had a goal and an assist for the IceDogs (20-29-7).

Shawn Lalonde, Kyle DeCoste and Richard Panik replied for Belleville (16-33-7).


Spirit 7 Spitfires 2

At Saginaw, Mich., Edward Pasquale stopped 61 shots as the Spirit upset Windsor.

Josh Shalla tallied twice for Saginaw (26-22-6) and Vincent Trocheck, Barry Sanderson and Anthony Camara had a goal and an assist each. Michael Sgarbossa and Jordan Szwarz completed the scoring for the Spirit.

Eric Wellwood and Justin Shugg scored for Windsor (44-9-5).


Majors 5 Colts 4

At Barrie, Ont., Gregg Sutch scored twice and added an assist as Mississauga upset the Colts.

Casey Cizikas had a goal and two assists for the Majors (37-13-5), while David Corrente and Jordan Mayer also tallied.

Bryan Cameron had a hat trick for Barrie (45-8-2), while Kyle Clifford added a marker.


Attack 6 Storm 2

At Owen Sound, Ont., Steven Shipley had the winner and an assist as the Attack tripled Guelph.

Grant McGee and Marcus Carroll both scored and added a helper for Owen Sound (25-27-6), while Bobby Mignardi, Mike Halmo and Myles Doan had singles.

Mathew Sisca and Francis Menard supplied the offence for the Storm(25-26-4).
