Summer with Stanley Capitals video analyst

The Stanley Cup's summer tour with the Washington Capitals began with a visit to an iconic national monument.
Video analyst Tim Ohashi took the Cup by the Lincoln Memorial and hoisted it overlooking the National Mall.

Ohashi was a die-hard Capitals fan growing up and kept extensive analytics records as a kid,
according to a 2016 profile in the Washington Post
. He had planned to be a math teacher, then shifted his focus to sports management and wrote countless letters to people in the Capitals organization until he landed an internship with video coach Brett Leonhardt doing video and analytics work. The Capitals later created a full-time analyst position for him.
After the Lincoln Memorial stop, Ohashi and free agent defenseman
Brooks Orpik
took the Cup to the Montgomery County Police Department in Bethesda, Maryland.

Before starting its rounds with Capitals staff and players, the Cup made an appearance at the Embassy of Canada in Washington for Canada Day.
